The DeBartolo Family Foundation’s Spirit of Humanity Award honors local nonprofit organizations that impact the Tampa Bay community in a meaningful way. Recipients of this award create unity, demonstrate hard work, and extend their outreach by helping people in need to overcome obstacles that are beyond their control. Since 2002, fifty three recipients have been recognized with the $25,000 Spirit of Humanity Award, awarded three times annually.

MAY 2006 Liberty Manor for Veterans received letters of recommendation, specifically, one offered an endorsement by Ms. Wendy Hellickson, Department of Veterans Affairs addressed to Anntonette Zeiss, Deputy Chief in Washington, D.C., by stating that “Liberty Manor very quickly demonstrated competency and commitment to serving homeless Veterans.”
MARCH 2006 Liberty Manor for Veterans became a reality with the purchase of the first property at 10015 N. 9th St., Tampa, Florida. The property consists of a two-story house, an efficiency apartment, and a cottage as a separate structure on the property.
