RESIDENTIAL SERVICES – Liberty Manor was organized in 2006 as a 501©3 non-profit organization with the objective of promoting the development and social needs of veterans who have served our country and fought for our independence, but fallen victim to homelessness. It has been determined that individuals who make up the homeless veteran population have exhausted all reasonable alternatives that will address their immediate financial or residential needs. This initiative serves the most deserving yet overlooked individuals of our community – veterans. It has been estimated that 23% of the homeless population in America are Veterans and contrary to the perceptions that our returning veterans are well-supported, many go without the services they need due to a lack of governmental resources. The mission of Liberty Manor is to provide transitional, supported housing to honorably discharged veterans and establishing long-term objectives designed to attribute to self-sufficiency.

A glimpse into the lives of these brave, often unsung heroes offers all of us perspective. Our request has merit, as these former servicemen are warriors, heroes in their own right; they serve as a reminder of how good life is in America and how fortunate we are to be Americans. This initiative offers us a great opportunity to pay homage in a significant way to those who have selfishly answered the call to duty by serving in our Armed Forces.

REHABILITATIVE SERVICES – includes case management services provided by the United States Veterans Administration, Hillsborough County Social Services and the Neighborhood Service Center. Evaluations and prescriptions are provided by the Family Emergency Treatment Center, Hillsborough County Health & Social Services and Mental Health Care.

MEDICAL, OPTICAL AND HEARING SERVICES – provided by a collaborative with the Lions Club, the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County Health and Social Services, Seniors Eye Care Program, Judeo Christian Health Care Clinic and the Veterans Administration.

CLOTHING – collaborative include St. Vincent DePaul, Salvation Army, New Beginnings of Tampa, Covenant Chapel Ministries, Collection Connection and Metropolitan Ministries.

LEGAL SERVICES – includes a referral service that provides residents an opportunity to resolve their legal issues. Liberty Manor has a working agreement that includes Bay Area Legal Services, Inc., Senior Advocacy Center, Veterans Resource Center, Elder Justice Center, Lawyer Referral Service – Bar Association and Pro Bono attorneys.

You can stand proud, knowing that your donation will benefit those who have served our country honorably and made the greatest sacrifice of all by protecting the freedom that we all enjoy today.
